Today in class, we are reviewing Count Ulrich von Brockdorff-Rantzau’s letter to Georges Clemenceau discussing the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. After talking about the issues that the Count raises, we will move on to the “CEEL Method” of writing argumentative essays.
I presented the following CEEL presentation and explained the differences between the Claims, Evidence, Explanation and Links. Students will be using this method when writing their essays next week.
To practice, I shared a Google Document with students. It can be found in the “Share with Me” section of Google Drive. Students will start off by highlighting an existing document and then they will write their own, using the CEEL method.
