We started today by taking a look at map of Africa over time. It traces the political boundaries and conflicts in Europe from 1879 to 2002 and shows who controls which territory at any given time. To check it out, visit: http://brown.edu/Research/AAAH/map.htm
Then, we watched the video “Africa – States of Independence.” This video takes viewers from the Scramble for Africa all the way through the end of the 20th century and shows how countries that were under Imperial control gained their independence. Students were asked to take 12 notes on their own paper during the video.
